What are fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to fill in lines, wrinkles, and hollow areas of the face, restoring volume and rejuvenating the skin’s appearance. They are often made from various materials, including hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, and poly-L-lactic acid. Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most commonly used and are naturally occurring substances found in the body, making them generally well-tolerated.
These fillers can be used to enhance cheek contour and fullness, plump up lips, soften facial creases (such as nasolabial folds and jowls) and wrinkles, and improve the appearance of recessed chin or improve the appearance of the jawline. At Mrs. Webb Aesthetic, dermal fillers are injected by the nurse injector and owner, Laurel Booth DNP, ACNP, CRNA. The effect of filler can last from several months to a couple of years, depending on the type of filler used and individual factors such as metabolism and lifestyle.
