Let’s have an honest conversation. One I hear all the time:
“I don’t have wrinkles, so I don’t think I need Botox.”
You’re not wrong you probably don’t have wrinkles. But you might have something else: tired eyes.

Above is a close up photo of my own eye 4 years apart. I was exhausted in both photos. The bottom photo was actually from 2021, when I was 8 months post-partum. The top photo is from 2024 and 3 months post-partum.The difference? Botox. Notice the skin above my eye is less fleshy. It’s more taut. A few millimeters makes a HUGE difference
Here’s the thing. Skin of color ages differently than lighter skin. Thanks to melanin, we’re blessed with natural protection against UV damage, which means fine lines and deep wrinkles tend to show up later in life. While lighter complexions may start developing crow’s feet or forehead lines in their 30s, those of us with more melanin don’t usually see those signs until well into our 40s or 50s.
But that doesn’t mean we’re immune to aging it just looks different. Instead of wrinkles, our eyes start to look heavy, droopy, or just plain tired.
You might catch yourself in the mirror thinking, “Why do I look mad?” or “I swear I got eight hours of sleep, so why do I still look exhausted?” You may even experience the dreaded comment from a coworker, “Rough Night, eh?”. I know I did!
That’s not your imagination that’s muscle movement and gravity teaming up against you.
The area between your eyebrows, called the glabella, is made up of small but powerful muscles that pull your brows down and inward. Over time, this can create a tired, tense, or even angry look especially when those muscles stay contracted all day.
The fix? It’s not your bed (though I’ll never argue with a nap). It’s Botox.
Botox, long known as the “wrinkle eraser,” does so much more than smooth lines. When injected precisely into the glabella area, it relaxes the muscles that pull your brows downward. This subtle release allows your eyes to open up lifting them just a few millimeters but the difference is powerful.
Those few millimeters can take you from basset hound tired to bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
The treatment itself is quick usually done in under 15 minutes and the results last 3 to 5 months. You’ll notice a gradual softening of your expression, and before long, people will start saying, “You look so refreshed!” without being able to pinpoint why.
Want to make your results last even longer? Ask us about zinc supplementation it can actually help your Botox work more efficiently and extend its lifespan.
